Just when you think that the era of flip phones ended, the Triple Flip appears..! Dave Schultze has created this cool and very innovative concept phone which ,I think has everything..:)
If you think one flip for your cell isn't enough, it has two sides to flip..! Not only that...
It has a full HD touch screen of 2000X1000 resolution
A querty keypad
runs on windows phone 7
And most important of all, if it comes to market its a must have phone for gamers...!!
Why...??? Watch the video....its better than whatever bullshit written above...:p
High quality video capturing is not only limited to some professional video cameras now a days. All today's mobile phones come with the same HQ video recording capabilities. So we are so excited by this, and buy one such mobile with such feature. After some time, we get so frustrated by it because its SHAKY as hell..!! When you try to shoot your dog playing, the video shot, will have everything except the dog..:p All those videos shot by our phones, looks just like those pirated movies which some assholes film it in a movie theater...!
So the answer to all those frustrated minds is ( answer is not to buy an original video camera..:p ) 'Smoothee'.
What is it..??
Its a steadicam for our mobiles. The reason why the video shot on mobiles is shaky is that the mobiles are too light and cant get a steady support. That's what 'Smoothee' do. It fills in what's missing, 'A steady support'.
As you can see in the pic,
The mobiles are mounted on the top.
The curved arm provides the balance in weight.
The holder is a pistol kind of a grip, attached below the mobile mounted surface.
Knobs are provided to move the mobile over the surface in the directions, left-right or front-back in order to balance its weight perfectly over the Smoothee.
Smoothee currently supports iPhone 3GS and 4, iPod touch and FLIP Mino HD. But the Smoothees for other handsets are also being developed.
The cost of smoothee is $200.
The entire below video has been shot on a mobile using Smoothee...!!
When we talk about technology and bringing something 'new', that 'new' should be,
simpler and smaller than the 'old' one.
more efficient than the 'old' one.
The 'new' one should be able to serve more of our needs in a more better ways.
So there are many concepts of those' new' things, but not all have the features mentioned above. Now, you are definitely know that what am going to tell you and that concept has all those features..:)
You are absolutely right..!! Its called 'Rolltop'... Germany's Orkin Design has proposed this fantastic concept of a futuristic laptop. The rolltop is a 'rolled up' laptop. By using the flexible OLED and touchscreen technologies, the created concept is a cylindrical laptop which can be rolled out when need sto be used and can be rolled up again when not used.
Since I said, it has all those features to make itself 'better'.... they are...
As you know, laptop is portable. But rolltop is ultra-portable..!
For a laptop, you need a laptop bag. But rolltop fits in whatever bag you have.
All those charges n wires which makes you sick, is not needed with rolltop..! All those are integrated in the central cylindrical system of rolltop. It has speakers, usb ports, lan port and a camera.
The top of the column detaches and acts as a power plug while the carry strap doubles as a power cord
When rolled up, Rolltop will be 11 inches (28 cm) long and have a 3.26-inch (8.3-cm) diameter
There are many of such features..... But I just don't like to type those ..:p Also am damn sure not many have read whatever written their and think all those as bullshit..!! All will look for some video or pics....So lets cup the crap n watch the video..:)
The video which am going to share you with is a recently leaked video on microsoft's vision of future of gaming. Microsoft is showing the world how it the future of its Windows Gaming Experience platform implemented with Xbox Live.
Now, for those who don't know what Windows Gaming Experience or WGX is, it's an internal group name for all of Microsoft's PC gaming efforts, including Games For Windows,MSN, windows live messenger.Let me clear you some things in the first place, before you watch the video......
Whatever you are going to see is still purely conceptual for the time being.
It mainly focuses on 4 experiences of gaming.
1) Social : This deals with enhancing the social gaming experience. Especially the facebook games such as Farmville. You may be thinking, why they are trying to enhance such small games, when there are games like Call of duty or Halo...! Well, you may not be knowing, how big is this 'small' game business...:) Did you know that the 'Farmville' on facebook is worth $10 billion....?!?!? How could microsoft ignore millions of casual gamers..??
2) Avatar : Deals with customizing your 'Avatar' with a virtual wardrobe.
3) Search : It eases finding the games n apps through bing.
4) Transaction : It focuses on delivering the digital content with simplicity irrespective of its size and price.
'Earthquake, Tsunami and nuclear crisis' ....what a combination...!! Japan is experiencing the most horrific, darkest nightmare ever possible. In such disasters, rescuing people is a very challenging task, when they don't know where exactly the person is trapped under that enormous rubble.
So with an intention of helping people under such situation, researchers from Tiwan have released a new mobile app called Mobile Savior.
The app can transmit the location of users trapped under the rubble, to any number of people with one single touch...! The app sends out the latitude and longitude co-ordinates of the people stranded in the disaster areas.
The mind behind the app, Liang Chih-hsiung, assistant professor of multimedia and gaming development at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology says that "This project was my idea, because Taiwan has experienced earthquakes and mudslides where we can't find people, With one touch, location data can get out, and maybe that would save your life. If you were crushed but still alive, someone can still find you."
The new app is available for download for $2.99 in English, Chinese or Japanese.
Do you like Google Earth ? then you will love Google Body browser. For all those who are into medical and anatomy, I think its a dream come true.
Google Body browser is a very interesting Google earth styled WebGl application which lets you navigate through out the human body making you know and learn every inch of it.

Its a great tool for all those medical students out there and also to every other human being as I think everybody should know about our own body. Google has made it easy, interactive and interesting like never before. Enjoy the app HERE
Telepathy ( communicating with our thoughts ) is indeed a dream technology. Whenever I saw those magic shows where the magician lifts a person or things with his mind, I used to think, it would be so cool if those were real and not illusions. But we humans are so intelligent, that we are making everything possible which was once impossible.
Personally, am a big fan of TED. Just watch the demo of this brilliant technology in the TED video below, and you will understand everything you need to know about this brain computer interface technology.
We got to know about touch screens in one of my older posts ( here.. ), now a multi touch on a touch screen display ,refers to the ability to simultaneously register three or more distinct positions of input touches.
There are many of 'multi touch' gadgets but this one caught my eye. Its a multi touch table from Touchscapes. Its cool, its fun and it can be very useful too..!
Touchscape Multi-Touch (MT) Table combines looks and style with high powered surface computing to create a product which could be a stylish addition to any environment. THe specification of the Touchscape Multi Touch table is as below....
Sports a 47'' High Definition LCD Screen
The screen is HD, with 1920 x 1080p Resolution.
Quad Core Processor
This surface is can be configured to be a native Windows 7 touch input device (just like Microsoft Surface) or can serve TUIO touch events for use with SUSHI or other multitouch SDK.
When you watch these videos here.. you will get know about it more. So lets not spare too many words here .. see it yourself..:)
Touch screens nowadays are becoming so common that every gadget in the world is going touch screen. Every person in his day to day life will interact with something which is touch screen. But have you ever wondered what these touch screens are made of..? How do they work..? What's the technology behind it.?
Many people don't know about these. After you finish reading this, you will be amazed by the technology and think of it as a miracle..!
I don't think defining 'touch screen' is necessary as you know what it means. you can easily write, navigate, open windows etc with touch screen. But think of this, ' within fraction of second your touch is your touch is translated into control commands that a computer understands'..! but how..??
To know that, lets look at different type of touch screens.
Capacitive touch screens : Its a wafer thin electrode made of ITO ( indium tin oxide) coated below glass. In such screens, an electrical field is generated on the surface of the screen. That field is disrupted by the user's touch, and electrodes on the edges of the screen measure changes in the current and can thus define the location of the disruption.
Resistive touch screens :Its composed of many layers. The most important are the two electrically conductive layer separated by a small distance. When you touch on it, the two metallic layers become connected at that point. This results in the change in the current and computer locates the point of contact.
Acoustic pulse recognition :It makes you of piezoelectric transducers. They "hear" sound waves caused by the user's touch. Sensors in the edges of the screen measure the amount of time it takes for the pulse to reach the edge, and can then calculate the location of the touch.
There are many other type of touch screens too like surface acoustic wave, optical imaging, self capacitance etc. Please feel free to explore the web...:)
The mobile touch screens what we use everyday uses 'Capacitive touch screens' as they are light and inexpensive. But there is a problem....!! The material used in the manufacture of these screens i.e, ITO (indium tin oxide) is very rare. There are only few deposit of indium anywhere in the world. So thinking of the future, scientists are looking for an alternative for ITO.
Now the updated news in the touch screens technology is that the researchers at Fraunhofer have come up with an alternative to ITO which is as efficient as ITO also cheaper ..!!
Its main components are carbon nanotubes and low-cost polymers. This new electrode foil is composed of two layers. One is the carrier, a thin foil made of inexpensive polyethylenterephthalate PET used for making plastic bottles. Then a mixture of carbon-nanotubes and electrically conducting polymers is added that is applied to the PET as a solution and forms a thin film when it dries.
So now you know about a technology and tell others and make yourself look intelligent..:) So see you when something significant happens in the world of science n technology...:)
Am so caught up in preparations of my exams that I am not being able to update my blog...:( But what to do...... this iPhone app is so amusing, cool, amazing ...oh.. am running out of adjectives..:p that I couldn't resist sharing with you all.
The app is called the "word Lens" .. Its an instant offline translator that uses a camera phone...!! I have not got much time to type everything..:( So am just sharing with you the video. This video will provide all the information regarding the app. Enjoy..:) N see you after the exams...:p
New concepts in every field, is is very usual today. Many concepts just come n go .. some, stay in peoples mind alive and one day they manufactured by somebody and the winning concept is turned to reality.
Some days earlier I posted a post regarding 'Searise' ( a future concept phone by mozilla ) and its a very attractive concept and many people liked it..! So am hoping one day this concept will become a reality.... Today I came to know about another concept phone design. Let me explain regarding this concept briefly and lets see if you like it....:)
This concept phone is called 'Neo gen' and its a child of French designer Jerome Le Creusot's imagination ( the world's most powerful graphic card...:p )
The main feature of this concept phone is its rotating or twisted display. Neo gen consists of 2 halves and these can be rotated as far the users wish. obviously the phone navigation interface is a touchscreen one and clips are used instead of the screws in order to make the assembly easy.
You can see all other details regarding the phone by looking at the pictures....:) n let me know what do you think of this concept....:)
auto-focus, geo-tagging, face detection, smile detection, and Xenon flash
has a resolution of 4000×3000 pixels with capability of recording 720p video @25fps..!!
still want more ...?? you can have it...!! 'HyperX', you may be knowing, he is a well known hacker from the Symbian community. He too wanted more off his Nokia N8's camera and he worked on it and tweaked it to get......
720p videos with 30fps
hacked N8 can snap 11MB images, rather than regular 2MB
hack also adds the option of continuous auto-focus which will further improve the video quality.
You know the best thing about this hack...?? it doesn't require flashing a new firmware, making it easy-to-use. HyperX has not yet announced any release date for the hack but I hope it soon will be...:)
New discoveries, inventions, gadgets with some pretty cool n amazing features are introduced to the world everyday. have ever wondered what researchers and scientists working on right now which would amaze us i the future..?? Well.. if you are then, here is a little window of "NokiaResearch Center" giving you a peek into the future...!!!
Read below to see into the future.....:) 1. Nanowire sensing What is it...??? In one word its an 'artificial nose'. How does it work..?? By placing a nanowire on top of a chip, they can train it to recognize different substances which are placed close to the sensing surface. You may ask how can it act as nose, well.., the current passing through the nanowire in influenced by the its surrounding objects.Current reacts , when you place a different object.
Future applications...?? In the future, this kind of technology could be used to monitor environments and measure a variety of things including air pollution, food-based contaminants or bio-chemical processes. Go for the video....:)
2. Stretchable electronic skin
What is it...?? The title suggests it all.... As you know the circuit board currently are solid.Researchers are working on a technology that will make them flexible like a skin.
How do the make it..?? By using evaporated gold as a conductor, they have created an electronic touchpad which can be stretched like a rubber band, but still respond to touch and pressure. They are testing it to stretch by up to 20 per cent of its original length without any drop in performance.y
Why do we need such thing in future..?? Just think of the possibilities o what could it offer in future...its mind blowing..! Think like this.. it could enable a unique range of wearable devices or even enable technology to feasibly become part of our clothing. This can change the whole way of interacting with technology and gadgets..!! Watch below.....
3. Electrotactile experience
This third one is the most realistic. Because this is being shown off on a nokia n900. researchers are trying to make the touchscreens to give back more realistic feedbacks so that it can take the way of interacting with touchscreens to a whole new level. Part of the team’s research is looking at ways to try and replicate textures, potentially offering users new experiences when it comes to interacting with a touchscreen.
Nokia N8 is without a doubt an amazing smart phone. Any one who 1st sees its features and applications will be attracted like an iron piece to the magnet. You can just get the full mobile specifications HERE.............
2 days ago an awesome feature of the Nokia N8 was demonstrated at Nokia world. It was demoed that using a new prototype app by nokia called "Plug and Touch", you can turn your television into a massive touch screen smart phone...!!!
Just by connecting your Nokia N8 and your tv with a HDMI cable, you can make your tv touch screen. Nokia N8 uses its camera to recognize your hand movements an dto detect where exactly you are touching the big screen.
Its still a prototype and needs a lot to be improved. But one can see what this Nokia N8 is capable of doing...ryt...??

Canon's ultra-large-scale CMOS sensor (left) alongside a 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor
Recently Canon has announced that they have developed the world's largest CMOS image sensor with a chip size of 202 x 205 mm..!!!
Guys who are so into gadgets and all, can easily know what canon has actually developed. But a normal man will never know what is developed by canon. So let me just help you guys with a little information regarding what this CMOS image sensor is. Well for more details.. you will always have the wikipedia or other sources... but who has the time in this fast forwarding world...??!!
First, what is CMOS...? Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor(CMOS) its a technology for constructing integrated circuits. This technology is also used in the construction of image sensors.
Now , what is an image sensor...? Its a device which converts an optical image to an electric signal. Its used in digital cameras and other imaging devices.Today the modern sensers are mainly CMOS active pixel sensors.
One more question may arise.. what are active pixel sensor ? Active pixel sensor (APS) is also an image sensor consisting of an integrated circuit containing an array of pixel sensors.
Now you know(briefly) what is a CMOS image sensor.Canon has developed one of these with the largest size.
You know..in earlier times , enlarging the size of the sensor resulted in an increase in the amount of time required between the receiving and transmission of data signals, which posed a challenge to achieving high-speed readout. Canon, however, solved this problem through an innovative circuit design, making possible the realization of a massive video-compatible CMOS sensor. Additionally, by ensuring the cleanest of cleanroom environments during the production process, the sensor minimizes image imperfections and dust.
With a measurement of 202 x 205, its the largest that can be produced from a 12inch wafer. It is approximately 40 times the size of current Canon's largest commercial CMOS sensor.
You may be wondering in the world where in everything is going smaller, why would somebody bothered to make a big one...!! But it has its own advantages.. because of this size of the sensor,it makes possible the image capture in one one-hundredth the amount of light required by a 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor, facilitating the shooting of 60 frame-per-second video with a mere 0.3 lux of illumination...!!
Now finally its application....
Video recording of the stars in the night sky.
also to record nocturnal animal behavior. ( What we see n enjoy in discovery channel...)
Today the whole world is fascinated about 3D technology.Eventhough the the 3d technology started flourish in the market , its growing at an enormous speed.
The past year has seen tremendous developments that increased the potential of the 3D video market, says Adrian Drozd, Principal Analyst for Frost & Sullivans Telecoms group. Now, the industry is giving more attention to bringing this experience into the home environment and further to the mobile device realm.
Now Panasonic has made a 3D camcorder for those having a 3d craze..!! Those who are willing to have a go at 3D home movie recording will do well to take notice that an "affordable" consumer 3D camcorder from Panasonic, known as the HDC-SDT750.
Panasonic had announced that the official revealing date of this brand new HDC-SDT750 camcorder will be on july28th in Japan. But unfortunately for Panasonic the detail about the camcorder has leaked already...!!!!! According to those details, this isn’t actually a new device but rather a previously-released 3MOS model fitted with a 3D conversion lens. It’s also speculated that the HDC-SDT750 will record 1080p AVCHD video at 60fps and boast Hybrid O.I.S. image stabilization. Regardless, the truth about these details, price and everything is still a mystery. So do watch out for the official release of HDC-SDT750.
